If there is one group of people we should trust with tips and tricks on the Ebay.com site - it would have to be the powersellers. These are the people who have worked their way up the sales ladder - often by selling tens of thousands of products over many years. Hence, when it comes to the Ebay.com website - these people know their stuff.
So what practical tips do they have to offer us for running a successful sales campaign via the internet auction giant? Well, we asked a few powersellers that exact question, and have taken the liberty of listing the results right here for your reading (viewing) pleasure!
Tips For A Successful Sales Campaign:
Interestingly, the tips we were given came in many different shapes and forms. It seems that even powersellers have different ways of going about the same task! But instead of making things complicated, here is a cumulative list of the most practical advice we were informed of:
Learn how Ebay REALLY works:
List, wait, sell, ship. Unfortunately, it's not quite that simple. With fee structures, listing details, prohibited goods, terms & conditions, locational options, age restrictions, and the like - you need to actually know and understand what you are doing to be able to succeed on Ebay.com. Luckily, the website has an extensive knowledge base, which contains all of this information. Even if you don't read it all at once, do be sure to take a look.
Don't overprice your products:
According to a number of powersellers, 80 percent of items which failed to receive a bid on Ebay.com, did so because the starting price was too high. Don't forget - this is an auction site, and people are expecting to receive a significant discount on the recommended retail price in a store. Pricing your products at, or just slightly below RRP will probably not get them sold.
Stop selling garbage:
The likelihood of someone wanting to buy your ripped and torn sweatshirt, is quite low. Unless someone wants that particular fabric for a purpose other than "wearing" (ok, we admit - it's possible) - your attempts at selling it will probably fail time and time again. Along with this recommendation - another similar story is the seller who relists products over and over again. If it didnt sell the first few times, you may want to try somewhere else.
